The band, with its fifty-one members, is the largest it has ever been, taxing the facilities for music at 5040 Joy Road. The band made several appearances at basketball at and football games, adding much to these athletic events. On February 23 and March 2, the group gave two very successful spring concerts at Bethany and Jehovah Lutheran Churches, respectively. This year, the Fort Wayne Band was host to the Detroit and Cleveland Lutheran High School Bands. The 1957 Tri-City Band Festival was held on March 28- 30. The Band is supported by the Boosters Club which buys all their new instruments and uniforms. S Concert Band in Action B Bond The B-Band is a group of students who are learning to play the instruments of their Choice. AS soon as they have received suf- ficient instruction, they become members of the A-Band. This year, the first period of every school day is spent in practice by this hardworking group, lst Row: D. Its most important functions are: running the lounge, sponsor- ing the magazine drive, and sponsoring and paying for professional assemblies. This year they initiated the Safe-Teens into D. L. H. S. Also, this is the first year that the council has required clubs to have acharter.
