A list of the most memorable games of the season would include the following: the one point loss to Salesian in the first game of the Year, the win over Romulus, the first for a JV team in some time, and finally, the half-time leads which disappeared at the hands of the very good Garden City and Inkster teams. Although the win record was not tremendous, the team exhibited the same type of hustle, determination, and Christian conduct for which all LHS teams have been noted. 92

The Cross Country team, lead by co-captains Bill Much and Marv Laurente, surprised a num- ber of teams this year, although in over all strength it was not as strong as last years squad, A few teams that were beaten by ours were Ecorse, Taylor Center, Clarenceville, Oak Park, and Bellville. In the Clarenceville Invitational, Lutheran High finished third, while in the regional they finished eighth. The varsity team consisted of the following seven men: Marv Laurente, Jim Berlinski, Gene 4 Q Sommerfeld, William Much, Dennis Wenzel, Steve Smallwood, and Bob Semerau.
