Mr. and Mrs. William Fenske To a iam-packed stadium, Mr. Willis Bredehoft, prin- cipal of D.L.H.S., officially welcomed students, parents, alumni, and friends to the first Annual Homecoming foot- ball game, October 8, l955, Mackenzie Field was the gridiron battlefield where the Lutheran Leopards met their old rivals, the Romulus Eagles. For this occasion, a Homecoming Queen and Court were chosen by the stu- dent body to rule over the festivities and school life for the next year. During the halftime ceremonies, the Queen, Nancy Gilson, was presented by Councilwoman Mary V. Beck, and was crowned by the Attorney General of the state of Michigan, Thomas M. Kavanagh. Also dur- ing the halftime, the maiorettes performed to music presented by the D.L.H.S, marching band.

Dick Gallmeyer, Which way did he go? Two lovely queens: Nan Gil- son and Jean Bryer Nada Homer looking pert and Gail Arduin Carol Schankin p,-env in a Variefy Skit and Sylvia Wood doing Wake The Town And Tell The People St. Peter's, East Detroit, was again the scene of the very successful eleventh Annual Fall Fun Festival on October 15, 1955. The opening was officially marked by the cutting of the ribbon by the queen, Nancy Gil- son, after which the gaily decorated booths were en- gaged in a booming business. The ever popular Variety Show was highlighted by the performance of the well known Detroit television personality, Soupy Sales. As a climax to the day's events, the scepter was presented by last year's queen, Jean Bryer, to the newly crowned queen, Nancy Gilson, Altogether, the- entire day proved to be very enioyable for all, This page donated by Mr. and Mrs. John Korff 102
