Q ADMINISTRATION FACULTY STAFF Mr. Herbert C. Moldenhauer, Principal All schools have teachers, for they cannot function without them. We have teachers in the fields of mathematics, history, science, English, foreign languages, religion, fine arts, practical arts, commercial arts, and physical education. Every school has some or all of these types of teachers, but at LHSC all of our teachers are also Christian teachers. Many schools in this area are not so fortunate in this respect, although they may have finer facilities for their teachers to use. On the following pages you will find the teachers we are proud to have - sincere, humble servants of God. uma. ltkxlx ll Nuxf, . in th. Atter these tirst plans were made, the staft plunged into a vigorous schedule, meeting 2 or 3 times a week, often staying after school till quite late. Under the direction of Ad- visor Carl Yochum and Editor Dee Leimer, the year began and ended in a frenzied rush to schedule pictures, write copy, meet deadlines, and take aspirin. Starting with the new constitution and several night meetings, the Council plunged into a whirl of worth-while services and activities. Among these services and activities was the sponsorship of two children overseas, which was financed by one chapel collection each month. Other chapel collections were sent to various other organizations, as has been the custom. Somewhat on the same line was the clothing drive, and the canned food collection at Thanksgiving which went to the Lutheran City Mission. Student Council committees this year also conducted the Careers Day program, sponsored the Bible reading cam- paign, planned Smile Day, built an outdoor nativity scene, and sold hot sandwiches at lunch. Yes, '58-'59 was a busy year tor an energetic Student Council. It will long be remembered. R. Schneider, Vice-President, M. Mueller, President, P. Mauch, Secretory, Representatives: J. Michael Stelmachowicz, Principal The year i958-T959 saw many changes in the physical aspects of school at Lutheran High School South. The most striking of these was perhaps the establishment of a regular program in the beautiful new plant which has some of the finest classroom, laboratory, and general equipment in the country. The inconveniences experienced during the first year, at the south side centers, were for the most part eliminated. This year there were two classes at LHSS, showing a ine spirit ot cooperation spiced with the inevitable spirit of competition between the classes. These first classes will always feel a closer bond' than those that follow, tor they have together chosen the school colors ot black and gold, named the school newspaper and teams fthe Troubadour and the Lancersi, and organized the various clubs and special procedures - in other words, they have set the precedents which others will follow through the years. 88 'iz Mr. ROBERT BRAUNSCHWEIG industrial Arts, Westmar College, B.A. Mr. EUGENE BROTT General Science, General Math, Sophomore Religion, B.S. in Education - Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, Ill., North- western, Evanston, Ill., Wayne U., Washington U., St. Louis U.
