ecomes eakffy ln April oT l96I, a dream was born. This dream, if iT came True, would solve many problems ThaT were Troubling The minds of a number oT people. The dream would provide a place Tor seniors To sTudy and socialize during Their Tree period and would TaciliTaTe oTher valuable space Tor new sTudenTs. IT would provide an ouTside enTrance To The gym and a privaTe room in which The LOG and BLUE AND GOLD STaTTs could worlc. IT would also cosT TwenT Tive Thousand dollars ..- Y an amounT The Board could noT appropriaTe. So The dream began To dissolve even beTore iT Toolc shape. Mr. Duensing proposed a soluTion. Why noT give The sTudenTs a chance To raise The money? A logical explanaTion, buT so unbelievable. Some people considered The plan TanTasTic. STudenTs raising such a large sum! However, Mr. Duensing, wiTh conTidence wenT ahead wiTh his plan. Rough slceTches oT The building plan were disTribuTed aTTer a Wednesday chapel service. As The plan was explained, a Teeling oT exciTemenT came over The sTudenTs: and when Mr. Duensing had Tinished, The Teeling oT enThusiasm had spread. From April To June The sTudenTs worked To Tinance The dream. They did This by geTTing pledges Trom parenTs, relaTives, and Triends, and by promoTing special eTTorTs, always being concious oT The ulTimaTe goal. Today we lcnow This proiecT as l our senior room. This is The Foundaifion ThaT has been builT Through deTerminaTion, conTidence, hard worlc, and The blessing oT our Lord
