TO TH E GRADUATES: A half century ago devoted, consecrated men and women with vision planned and founded Lutheran secondary education in Chicago. Their beginnings were humble, very humble. Today, fifty years later, their efforts have blossomed into a growing edu- cational system. These founders were men of faith, strong-hearted men, willing to sacrifice, whose love for their Savior prompted them into action so that the Lutheran high school movement had its birth in the Chicago area. May you, the graduates of Luther North of l959, the heirs of the past, find inspiration in the deeds of those who contributed so much to the growth of Christian secondary educa- tion! Soon you will be given the opportunity to step into the footsteps of those who blazed the trail. May it then be said of you: They were men of faith, of vision and of love for others!
