IN MEMORIAM MR ARTHUR E ERICKSON We the class of 1959 wrsh to pay tnbute to the memory of Mr Arthur E Erlckson, who dred August 18 1958 Mr Errckson was born on November 17 1892 1n Clmton Mmnesota He attended Gustavus Adolphus College where he recexved hrs B A degree He recexved hls M A degree from the Unxverslty of Mmnesota and drd graduate work at the Unrversttyof Chrcago I-Ie held posmons rn the ClI1CS of Park Rapxds Mmnesota Detrott Lakes Minnesota Gramte Falls Mrnnesota Webster South Dakota and Watertown South Dakota Mr Erlckson came to Ironwood 1n 1929 as htgh school prmcrpal and served Ln thrs capactty untxl he became Superlntendent of Schools ln July 1932 He served as Su permtendent unttl hrs ret1rement rn June 1953 Mr Erlckson was a member of the Amerlcan Economxc Assoclatlon, American Academy of Po11t1ca1 and Socral Sclence a member of the Phx Delta Kappa Fratermty and was lrsted ln Who s Who ln Amertcan Educatxon Mr Errckson wrll be remembered most perhaps for hls mfluence and efforts tn developmg a well rounded program provldmg educatxonal opportunmes for all students He also served in the armed forces during the first World War.
