Class History It was September, 1953, an exciting day for 136 eager-beavers arriving on flights from East and West to start their six year educational tour through Foster High School. We were greeted by many phases of knowledge, and we were accepted by the other tourists, who erected high goals for us to attain. Due to financial difficulties, eight of our fellow tourists were unable to continue the journey with us; thus, leaving 128 of us to continue our journey in September, ' 54. We were escorted into the vocational hall and were shown the foundation to many outstanding careers that would make our lives happy and prosperous. The 128 of us continued our journey until the year of ’55. Our membership decreased by twenty-eight persons who decided to turn back. The year 1955 was indeed important! We had finally rid ourselves of the title eager beavers for we were then the Freshman Class of 55. During our Freshman year year we really got into the swing of high school and then in ' 56, we journeyed to the Sophomore Class. Most of us realized, at this point, that we were gradually advancing up the ladder of success. Responsibility was facing us as juniors, but with sixty-three faithful classmates, no task was too great for us to conquer. Our Junior year was vivacious, exciting, and quite a success. We were under the leadership of Clarence Farrar, class president, and other capable officers. We also had the splendid guidance of our Junior Class sponsors, Mrs. E. M. Barbour and Mr. W. H. Sherrill. Five years have now past and time is gradually drawing to an end. We have less than a year remaining of our tour. Alas! Alas! We have reached that long awaited year, our year, the year of 1959. At the top of the ladder stands fifty-seven dignified seniors. Our tour has been educational, enjoyable, and satisfying. We have had our triumphs and failures but we have treated both as stepping stones to success.
