Harden! ls' iuffdog Hand Ufafzge Ja okefs 'WWw'w l ll Wfflllw 'fi Boosting school spirit is another job for these two pep organizations. Often school spirit is low, but after a short pep rally, school spirit rises to a height that no one can control. Orange jackets, as well as band members, find there is more hard work than glory connected with these clubs. However, all members have the same proud feeling of security and triumph. We, at Burbank, are very proud of the fine job that these two organizations have carried out through the years. We are sure, that in years to come, they will continue to better the name ot Burbank. 7

These two fine organizations have inspired spirit and high standing at Burbank for many years. Mr. Bobby Giesler, band director, and Miss Gwen Boynton, pep squad sponsor, may share much ol the credit that has brought success to these two groups. Participating in many of the year's festivities is the main purpose of the two organizations. Football season is a very busy time of year for the Band and Orange jackets. They practice for halftime drills every morning preparing for game night. Loyalty to Burbank is their most out- standing characteristic. 6

LUTHER BURBANK VOCATIONAL. HIGH SCHOOL 1oo2 EDWARDS sTREe:'r SAN ANTONIO 4. TEXAS May som, 1960 Dear Seniors: I would like to speak to you from the experience of my life. I have found that the worthwhile things or values in life are not attained in a day. They are gained by steady, persistent endeavor through the years. Of course, it is important that you choose or decide what you would like for your life to be and then to work toward that goal. My wish for you is that the lessons you have learned, the knowledge you have gained, and the personal growth that you have made while attending Luther Burbank Vocational High School, will be such that you will find joy in living the life of an upright American citizen. S ' cerely you Terrel l F . Gates I Principal I f 8 1
