Has anyone stopped to give his own definition of English? This is one subject we use every day. lt is the combination of many words which are used while carrying on a conversation. Our thoughts put on paper are carried forward in English sentences. During the English class the language is brought to the students by the instructor from a text. The correct usage of nouns, pronouns. verbs, prepositional phrases and so forth are introduced during the class period. Three years of English are required in order to be graduated from high school. Those entering college continue toward another year of English education.

But to others this course of art in numbers holds many and different mysteries. Teacher says it takes intel- H lectual curiosity to get a pupil in a math- ! i J. ematics class. The subject of numbers is not only for learning HOW to work out problems, but WHY it is done in the manner in which it is solved. For this reason curiosity must be in mind when the process of solving a math- ematics problem is on hand. Mr. Herald Williams' commercial class pictured above, is one of several classes conducted in the department this semester. The basic steps of business math are taught in commercial math I. These steps are car- ried on to the second part of this subject. And thus a year of business math is com- pleted.
