I. 6 ,M Besides acting in the .H ,xl absence of the princi- fjp! jf Z pal, Mr. Herman Vetter, ' vice principal, has the job of f-1A.f acting the part of dean of boys. In his office many calls have been made by boys with school problems as well as person- al difficulties. The advice given by Mr. Vetter is sometimes taken at heart. Other times it is given in vain. To him our hats come off, for when a Burbanker is in need of a true friend and advisor, girls as well as boys, can always be sure of Mr. Vetter's friend- ship. MR. P. Y. GILBREATH Mr. P. Y. Gilbreath is counselor for Luther Burbank Vocational High School. His job falls under three mu- jor phases: educational guidance, vo- cational guidance, personal guidance. Educational guidance consists of the selection of proper courses for graduation, college entrance and vo- cational preparation. Helping stu- dents find ways of making adjust- ments when they have difficulty in passing courses fall into this phase. Vocational guidance deals with the study of occupational fields, selecting, preparing for, entering into, and pro- gressing in a chosen vo- cation. 8 MISS MARY ALICE NOONAN Be available for any odd jobs which arise. This is one of the many responsibilities which occupy Miss Mary Alice Noonan, dean of girls. During her day's work Miss Noonan goes through the pro- cess of many developments. Planning, suggesting, and scheduling activities with the students and sponsors is most- ly worked out with her assist- ance. Many times girls hold con- ferences with her to look at their problems here at school as well as at home. All in all it is a constant task of rebuild- ing---ideals, habits, choice of friends .... Personal uidance Q deals with the personal problems and adjust- ments of individual students.

1-sr BROOM, GEORGIA Recording of attendance for the en- tire school is left to Mrs. Georgia Broom and her office aids. This work is done throughout the school year. Beginning with the first period right through the sixth there are student aides to be trained and worked with as they learn the many aspects of this most en- grossing occupation. tsp? PATTERSON , CAMILLE Besides doing the regular work of an office secretary, Mrs Camille Patterson is in charge of permanent records of each student in school, dropped or grad- uated. The withdrawals, drops, and the program card file are her responsibility. Every month she also fills out the vet- erans forms. All in all she leads a very busy bus- iness life working for the deans. MISS MARY IO MEYER Miss Mary lo Meyer fills the position of general clerk. Her duties are many. Typing letters, transcripts, taking dicta- tion, and filing tal-ce most of the days work. Assorting mail, furnishing sup plies needed by the various offices in school also become part of her job. MRS. DOROTHY NELL WEST Mrs. Dorothy Nell West serves our principal, Terrell F . Gates, not only as a secretary, but also acts as a receptionist in the main office. Persons interested in Burbank and its student body conduct most of their business with Mr. Gates. Thus Mrs. West is kept busy throughout the day. .rf-Q..
