Smith, our Superintendent. In the past three years, he has put forth much effort to make our school a better place in which to attend. His efforts toward secur- ing a new school in order to have a more prom - ising community have been very much ap- preciated. He had teaching experience in Arkansas and Missouri. He also served as superintendent at Irondale before coming to Lutesville. A man very greatly appreciated, Mr. Thomas E. Smith! These two, along with Johnny Smith, Jack James and Wayne Lewis, will be lost through graduation. The 1957-58 Cardinals will have Lukefahr, Harris, and Crites around whom to build a team. The 1957 Baseball season was very successful for the Cardinals. Led by the batting of Carl Myers and the pitching of Carl East and Bob Angle, the Cardinals won six and lost none. Whoa, Who's who? Baccalaureate services were held May 12, 1957, at the High School Gymnasium. Miss Joan Crites provided the organ music for the Processional. The Invocation was given by Reverend Fred Shrum. Reverend H. H. Mur- dick read the Scripture. The school chorus sang three numbers, Bless This House, Crusader's Hymn, and Wayfaring Stranger. The Stranger of Galilee was sung as a solo by Carole L. Hahn. The Baccalaureate Ser- mon was given by Reverend James Price. Reverend Marshall Page gave the Benediction. Commencement Services were held May 17, 1957, at the High School Gymnasium. The School Band played the processional of Pomp and Circumstance. Reverend Sylvan Poet gave the Invocation, followed by Where in the World and No Man is an Island sung by the Choir. Harold Ralph, Principal, pre- sented the Senior Awards. Bagatelle was played by the Clarinet Quartet. The Girls' Trio sang Look for a Silver Lining. The Commencement Address was given by Reverend Harold Nance. John Dale Chandler, President of the Board of Education, presented the Seniors with their diplomas. Reverend Verdell Jack- son gave the Benediction.
