'Dedication We, the Cardinal Staff, wish to dedicate the 1956 Cardinal to our helpful and cooperative teacher whose patience and understanding have helped many students realize the many opportunities of life and prepare them for their future vocation. Through the years his friendship and guidance have been inspir- ing. By his genuine interest in our progress, our edu- cation has been broadened. In appreciation of his service we respectfully dedicate this volume of the Cardinal to Mr. Ben VanAmburg.

Mr. VanAmburg received his elementary and secondary education at the Lutesville Grade and High Schools. He attended Will Mayfield College for two years then went to Southeast Missouri State Teachers' College where he received a B. S. in Education. Later he did graduate work at the University of Missouri and received his Masters Degree. He has a total of two hundred and three credit hours. While at Missouri University he became a member of Phi Delta Kappa. His teaching career started when he accepted the positions of Prin- cipal of the Lutesville Grade School and Coach of the High School. During his fourteen years of teaching he has taught various subjects, and served as a coach for ten years. His present schedule includes teaching General Science and C. O. E. and serving as Coordinator- Counselor.
