1 Foreword The CARDINAL Lutesville Public School Lutesville, Missouri 1955 Volume VIII In the rush of everyday High School life, many and varied experiences often seem unrelated and chaotic. The CARDINAL staff has arranged those of this year at Lutesville High and classified them accord- ing to patterns with the hope that in the years to come those who lived them may relive them with pleasure and see them in perspective with struc- tural significance. In presenting these things in this yearbook, we hope that our readers may find plea- sure in retrospect in looking over its pages. Carole Crader Editor Administration Seniors Juniors Sophomores Freshmen Elementary Faculty Athletics Favorites Activities Organizations Advertisers During the eight years he has been with us, his reserved but forceful personality has made a vital place for him in the hearts of his associates and his students. He is a scholar and a gentleman, a friend and a guide. His opinions, sound and reliable, the result of a careful consideration of all the angles, are never thrust on others, but are always available to those who seek them. His leadership is always in the right direction, ethical and effective. With respect and admiration the CARDINAL staff dedicates the 1955 CARDINAL to our principal, Mr. Webster E. Wells. Superintendent s Message There are times when all of us sit down and reminisce of pleasures past. This book will cause you to recall even more vividly the many pleasant hours and events that sur- rounded your days at Lutesville High. We react to the future to a great extent on the basis of our past experience and as I think of this past year that has just come to a close, I am even more certain that the choice I made several years ago, to devote my time to working with and for young people like you, is one of the most gratifying choices I could have made. To The Cardinal Yearbook editor, staff, and faculty advisor, congratulations, and thanks for your untiring efforts required to complete this year's Cardinal. Many responsibilities and opportunities face you who are leaving us--choose well the responsibilities that afford a choice and take advantage of every opportunity in the light of the principle for which we stand. yours, s) L Thomas E.
