“SENIOR CLASS HISTORY When the Junior Class of 19 8-49 walked Into good L. H. S. the following year they found they had Just become Sophisticated Seniors! After a few vreeks of hard labor we honored (or should I say horrored?) Mr. Englehardt by unanimously electing him our sponsor. With his aid we have been able to accomplish much. He suggested a trip to New Or- leans or Washington D. C. or some other place of Interest. We agreed heartily at the time, choosing Washington D. C. In order to pay for this trip, we have been selling everything from magazines and Christ- mas cards to salt shakers and coffee. Then, In the midst of this we find ourselves Involved with a three-act hlll-bllly comedy for the annual Senior Play. Amid this we are strugfling through quarterly exams iNever-to-be-forgotten!) There was no rest for the wicked until at last on the night of March 9, the girls gave the boys a party. It was the only one we had all year! Then, of course theta was the annual holiday confusion with posters, gift wrapring, and everything else. And I can't leave out our candidate for queen which proved to be Shirley VanMatre. Then, there were those numerous ball games with Lute8Vllle right In there rooting for the good old home team. Some- times we won-wometlmes we lost-but not In spirit! Amidst this we were busy selling candy, gum, soda, and Ice cream. Gee, all that work Just to go to Washington D. C. Gee, all that work for four long years Just to get through high school-what do you think about It. Was It worth It? It's sad, but It's true-we all wish we could go back again. (Poor teachers!)
