High Price Of A Free Education Senior Rodney Herms gets help putting on his gown for senior portraits. Why can ' t we just rent our cap and gown? Lori Shoffner asked. One of the responsibilities which comes with being a senior is increased monetary expenses. The seniors are suddenly burdened with portraits, invitations, cap and gown, senior ring, and prom attire expenses. You don ' t realize how many in- vitations you need until you star counting friends, David Isbel said. Many seniors believed the leasi necessary expense was having tci buy their cap and gown. The money that goes for them for jusi one hour ' s use is ridiculous, ' Nicky Alexander groused. Naturally a smaller town has fewer things to do and places to go. We ' d ride around or build a bonfire at the light, our hangout, and sit there, she said. Jennifer Bujnoch, a sophomore, said, If I could change one thing in Luling it would be to change the school into a mall. Senior, Rachel Clements, a former beach bum, said that the one thing I hate about Lul- ing is that there is no beach. Sliding down the pillars at the dam is just not the same.
