Mind And Muscle: PE And UIL Hit New Goals Junior Byron Robinson gets more sleep while traveling to Edna at 6:00 a.m. for a UIL com- petition. While physical educa- tion classes improved stu- dents ' coordination, mus- cle tone and endurance, University Interscholastic League Literary contests challenged students men- tally. The rewards from either will be long-lasting. Luling won Sweeptakes at the District meet in Edna with 168 points. It was the first year in a new district and the first ever Sweepstakes for Luling. Principal R.V. Kosub said he was especially pleased with the win because so many different academic areas were represented.
