The seal incorporates the pine cone representing East Texas' famous pines, a gear signifying local industry, a lamp lighting the way to knowledge, and a panther symbolizing prowess and courage. The school philosophy of Victory through Dili- gence completes the design. This seal---with the school flag, the class ring, and battle cry of Scratch 'em, Panthers! ----- serves to remind all of us of the challenge, accomplishment, and pride woven through our years at L.H.S.
