FOREWORD Gathered within these pages are treasured memories of classmates, teachers, activities, and all that has been a part of our school life at Ludowici High School. The publication of this annual has been a real challenge to us. It has required the co-operation of our staff, sponsor, advisor, students, teachers, and photographers. RUSSELL Mr. Russell received his Master’s degree from Georgia Southern College and has served as superintendent of Long County Schools for the past four years. He has been re-elected to serve another four-year term. Before taking office as superintendent he taught in our high school. SECRETARY MRS. MARTHA SHAW I IN APPRECIATION . . OUR PRINCIPAL MR. J. W. JACKSON Mr. Jackson has spent his professional life as a teacher and principal in Georgia schools. He received his B.S.A. de- gree from the University of Georgia in 1924. In 1950 Mr. Jackson received his Masters Degree in Education with a major in school administration. Before coming to Long County nine years ago, Mr. Jackson served as a vocational agriculture teacher for ten years and also has ten years experience in county agriculture work. With 35 years experience in the education field, he has worked tirelessly for better education. He is very active in church and civic affairs. Being a member of the First Baptist Church in Ludowici, he is on the Board of Deacons and is Superintendent of the Adult Sunday School Depart- ment. Mr. Jackson is a member of the Lions Club in Hinesville. Mr. Jackson is a member of both the Georgia Education Association and National Education Association. He is a member of the First District Principals Association. He was a representative for the First District to the National Education Association Convention in Seattle, Washington, in 1964.
