John J. Hurley, Principal Principal’s Message To the Class of 1968 I extend my congratulations on the successful com- pletion of your high school career. Your sound leadership and high level cit- izenship has been reflected throughout the entire student body. In your aca- demic and extracurricular pursuits you have contributed much to the school. As you prepare to meet the challenge of the future let me remind you that the real value of education is the practical investment you can make from yourself into it; what you take from it is as much as you give to it. It is my hope that your years at Ludlow High School have provided you with the necessary academic and moral background to pursue your future goals with faith and confidence.

Seeggeet cent we tteepesee ne aff The many years of dedicated service which Miss Olive Brooks has given to the students of Ludlow High can never be fully appreciated or repaid. Her sincere interest in us students and ‘invaluable aid in guiding and shaping our lives has instilled Miss Brooks deeply and fondly in our memories. Attending Radcliffe College, Miss Brooks chose a history major, and later received her masters degree at Boston College. After teaching for two years in a small Rhode Island school house, Miss Brooks came to teach at Ludlow where she has devotedly worked for nearly forty years. As a teacher and as a guidance director, Miss Brooks has always shown an interest in student activities and has been a guiding force in all our endeavors. Therefore we, the class of 1968, dedicate the 1968 Ludlow: Lion to Miss Olive Brooks—to her conscien- tious efforts as a teacher, to her awareness of our needs and constant willingness to help, and to her unselfish dedication to us, her students.
