As I sat on the beach last summer Class Fascinated by the tide and the sky; My thoughts drifted remotely To the coming year of high. P My thoughts then drifted slightly oem To the wonderment of time; And like time and the restless tide I began this little rhyme. I went back to my very first school day Way back in 52 And sort of remembered the feeling Of timidness and “growing up’’ too. I suppose all of you, dear Classmates Had the same feeling as I; So now I'll reminisce with “we” And try to bring memories and sighs, We sailed along the sea of knowledge Each year giving our all; When to our amazement and sorrow We were on double sessions, do you recall? We tried so hard to study And as our junior high days drew to a close; We were thrilled with the new high school Nearing completion for our dispose. And now, where has the time gone? I ask myself and I sigh; Since we were lowly freshmen In the glorious Ludlow High. We have had some memorable moments Our dances, parties, and games; As well as all of our studies oo numerous to list by name. We thank all of our teachers For their patience, sincerity, and drive; To help us get all our knowledge We really tried hard to survive. It is with a note of sadness Our high school days come to a close; What our future holds for us No one, but God, really knows. However, as a class we will promise To be faithful, loyal, and true; Sincere, understanding, and trustful In whatever we are chosen to do. The “New Frontier” — the time is called We all will do our share; To keep and preserve this land of ours From fear and war and care. So as the Class of sixty four Departs like all the rest; We will look back on our high school days With pride, and joy and zest. And as our parting farewell May you always say; “The Class of 1964 Was the best to pass this way.” MARYELLEN ROONEY 64

Tribute To A Teacher A pair of ebony framed glasses, a suitcoat without a button, a man without a key, a believer in the Class of °64, a teacher of noble ideals, this is William Mullins. He came to us in the 7th grade and has been a source of encouragement to us ever since. This truly dedicated teacher could be seen at all our social functions coaxing the boys to dance, and complimenting the girls on their pretty appearances. He always gave us credit when credit was due, and because he was so inter- ested in our welfare, he pointed out to us our shortcomings. Mr. Mullins, possessing the qualities and requisites of a true man and teacher, has tried to impart to us a responsibility to our parents and friends, to our school, to our country, and to God. His first coaching job was with our fresh- man team. Mr. Mullins in action. Relaxation between classes.
