ADMINISTRATION GEORGE E. RUSSELL, Principal TO THE CLASS OF 1960: As principal of the high school I have been associated with the members of this class during four years of double sessions in which we have had many problems to meet and conquer. I have been proud of your scholastic, athletic and extracurricular achievements despite the difficulties encoun- tered and appreciate your willingness to accept the responsibilities of your status as students in the high school under somewhat adverse conditions. Just as you have adjusted yourselves to the conditions of your schooling so do you leave now with as much information and knowledge as your industry has produced. Your records have now been completed as far as your active high school career is concerned and your yearbook may well serve as a fitting testimonial to that career. To those who have achieved distinction may I remind you that success and fame are only transi- tory and that you must continue to aim high and work industriously so that your achievements may be greater ones. To those whose high school careers have not been so successful may I advise you that the future is one which you may shape by diligent application so that your life careers may be more successful. To all of you, I extend congratulations for your part in making this Class of 1960 a memorable one and extend to each of you my sincere wishes for health, success and happiness in the years to come. A special tribute is offered to the members of the yearbook staff whose application has resulted in this splendid document—The Yearbook of the Class of 1960. GEORGE E. RUSSELL Principal SCHOOL COMMITTEE—Edward F. Burgess, Edward J. King, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTS—Edward W. Schmidt, Grat- Chairman, Herbert F. McChesney. tan H. Rooney.

SUPERINTENDENT A % 2 DR. HENRY F. TRAINOR. Superintendent of Schools TO THE CLASS OF 1960: A yearbook is a storehouse of memories. Twenty years from now—when the Class of 1960 rereads these pages—time, distance, age, and position will be swept away by the return of memories of youth. This class will have good things to remember. All too briefly have I known all of you of the class of 1960. What I have seen in your classroom performance, in your fine extracurricular presentations and your wonderful record in the field of sports convinces me that you people have profited greatly from your high school education. On behalf of all those connected with the Ludlow Public Schools, I wish you “Godspeed!” and all the best in the years ahead. HENRY F. TRAINOR, Superintendent Ludlow Public Schools
