Mr. Rooney Mr. Messenger To both Mr. Grattan H. Rooney and Mr. Archie H. Messenger, we extend sincere gratitude and thanks for all they have done for the students of the Ludlow High School. Mr. Messenger has been our instructor in instrumental music and the director of our school band for thirty-five years. Throughout this time, he has given hours of energetic effort and of devotion to faithful teaching, and enthusiastic leadership of the band in parades and at school functions. For him, we wish a long and successful retirement. Mr. Rooney has spent several years in our school, first as a teacher and now as Director of Driver Education and Administrative Assistant. In his quiet, steady way, he has instilled in many a young adult a respect for the laws of our Democracy, and especially for the laws of the highway. Famed for his dry and clever humor, Mr. Rooney, we hope, will continue to be, for many years yet, a pillar of our high school faculty and administration. So, to Mr. Grattan H. Rooney and Mr. Archie H. Messenger, we proudly dedicate this 1958 edition of THE LUDLOW LION

COV OOO 2 dforeword “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” These famous words by Dickens can be applied to any time, to any place. During our four years in Ludlow High School, we have had much of the best com- bined with a little of the worst. However, it is better by far to remember the good and happy days spent at Ludlow High. With this in mind, we have tried to create herein a permanent record of perhaps the best four years of our lives. With this goal in mind, the editors and staffs of the senior yearbook take pride in presenting the 1958 edition of THE LUDLOW LION! S ASAHONDG
