An          afternoon          dance          together          with          a          picnic         at          Forest          Park          terminated          the          tableau          of          events          during          our          Freshman          year.         As          worthy          followers          in          our          second          year          of          devoted          service,          we          came          to          blows          with          our         creed!          We,          the          disciples          of          the          virtue,          experience,          elected          James          Guerra,          President:          Diantha         Gadaire,          Vice          President;          Florence          Goncalves,          Secretary;          Victoria          Wlodyka,          Treasurer;          along         with          Barbara          Pecedonio,          Elva          Bell,          and          Carol          Gershowitz          to          be          our          fortresses          and          our         strength.          Despite          this          able          body          of          supernatural          genius,          our          Sophomore          banquet          proved          to         be          little          more          than          a          fruitless          venture.         Be          not          discouraged          or          dismayed,          however,          was          our          cry          of          revenge          as          we          commenced         our          third,          and          perhaps          most          climactic,          year.          For,          as          Juniors,          we          offered          our          humble          tokens         of          repentance          in          the          form          of          a          dance          followed          by          Mo onlight          and          Roses,          our          prom.          As          the         caravans          followed          the          stars          that          most          eventful          Christmas          Eve,          so          we,          too,          were          led          by          stars         —stars          in          their          own          rights          as          they          guided          our          class          to          a          stable          of          security—President,         Florence          Goncalves;          Vice          President,          Diantha          Gadaire:          Secretary,          Elaine          Legere;          Treasurer,         Marian          Tokarz;          with          help          from          Barbara          Pecedonio,          Elva          Bell,          Patricia          Ferris,          and          Nancy         Fuller.         We          had          completed          three          years          of          school,          during          which          our          status          had          risen,          declined,          and         had          risen          again          to          a          phenomenal          degree.          With          class          elections          upon          us,          we          elected          James         Guerra          to          the          most          honorable          position,          President          of          the          Senior          Class          of          1956;          John          Forgie,         Vice          President,          proved          to          be          an          astute          lawmaker;          Florence          Goncalves,          Secretary,          an          old-         timer          in          Student          Council;          and          Marian          Tokarz,          Treasurer,          quite          adept          in          handling          our          money;         along          with          Patricia          Ferris,          Barbara          Pecedonio,          and          Elaine          Legere.          With          this          quorum          of         authority          we          launched          into          our          activities          by          sponsoring          Autumn          Leaves,          our          Booster          Dance,         to          which          came          football          players          and          cheerleaders          from          Nantucket,          Massachusetts.          After         this          fabulous          fling,          the          class          settled          down          to          more          serious          projects—The          Ludlow          Lion          and         Jutetown          Jive,          our          senior          show.         As          the          school          calendar          comes          more          rapidly          to          a          close,          we,          the          members          of          the          class          of         ‘56,          reminisce          as          we          think          of          the          years          spent          at          Ludlow          High.          We          still          cannot          quite          believe         that          we          have          come          to          the          end          of          the          journey,          and          that          we          face          these          inevitabilities:          we          are         about          to          enter          into          a          life          which          is          new          to          us:          we          must          leave          the          halls          of          L.          H.          S.          never          to         return,          and          we          shall          probably          lose          contact          with          many          of          our          high          school          friends.          However,         there          lie          before          us          our          final          senior          activities,          from          which          we          are          sure          to          derive          a          sense          of         gratification          and          accomplishment.          May          we          be          remembered          as          a          class          that          learned          through         experience          and          went          on          to          prove          ourselves          worthy          of          high          praise. Jackie          Blais          and          Phyllis          Cislak,          who,          in          their          younger         days,          wrote          to          servicemen,          are          now          called          “Mother”         by          most          of          the          boys,          and          they          answer          millions          of          letters         Avent,         Every          day          Charles          Chenaille          is          down          at          school          with         his          little          boy          complaining          to          Sandra          Proctor          that          it          is         impossible          for          his          son          to          be          a          wise          guy.         Patty          Ferris          has          the          first          1976          Studebaker          airplane         and          is          convinced          that          she          can          win          a          race          with          Diantha         Gadaire          in          her          1976          Plymouth          airplane.          Roger          Gamache         is          mechanic          for          both          and          won't          give          his          opinion,          but         James          Jorge          is          busy          taking          bets.         Karl          Edelmann          and          Larry          Walker          are          still          paper         boys,          but          now          they          are          joint          owners          of          a          paper          mill.         Joyce          Bernardos,          Mary          Ann          Bernot,          Elizabeth          Chrus-         ciel,          Mary          Ellen          Duquette          and          Elsie          Ferreira          are          still         together          with          a          little          “cradle          gang”          of          their          own.         Philip          Brochu’s          band,          consisting          of          Laurent          Brodeur,         Richard          Gosselin,          Edward          Wilcox,          Donald          Abair,          Carl         Douthwright,          and          Edmund          Amos,          are          now          making         noise          in          the          kitchen          with          pots          and          pans,          thanks          to         their          better          halves.         Sandra          Parker          is          the          only          secretary          in          the          world          who         wears          knee          socks          and          spike          heels          to          work          every          day.         Iris          Bogart          and          Dorothy          Amos          were          on          “Queen          for          a         Day”          together,          and          because          neither          won,          they          are          no         longer          eating          lunch          together.         Because          Caterine          Allens          and          Albert          Bragga          took         the          same          bus          for          so          many          years,          they          have          just          opened         their          own          cooperative          bus          line.
