MASS H-HISWDUQY' 'Tires ww back yonder ln '37 when the lofty portal s of L. H. -S. were flung wide to 140 bewildered fresh, a s green as you make ' em, but not for long. Guiding Oil' awkward and falterlng steps were: Margie Baltzer, 'LeRoy Glidden, Marcia Mae Ely, and Anne Vorce. le surprised our Alma Hater men we began dancing classes to bring o u t hidden Fred Astalx-es. A year passed! One day we awoke to find ourselves he- irs to the title 'sophomoresh Yes, we, the graduat 1 n g class of '41' were once small and lonely, too. We w h o have made the Oriole home an institution of fame and re- nown were before our gowth into the mighty acorn tree but small nuts. It was during this memorable year that t h e freshmen handbook came into being, for we thrived o n labor. Our 'bosses' for '58' were: B111 Kleum, Fredoli' Anderson, Alton Haner, and Wallace lrege. Not to be outdone by our forefathers, we played h ost to our superiors, the seniors, on the magic carpet to Hawaii. There, the Prom of '4O', we swang and swayed with Arnie J. at the helm on the ship of state were oapt 1 Aus: Peggy Parrott, B111 Klemm, Fredolf Anderson, and T h or a Hanson. . Our goal was attained! with great reJo1c1ng we d is- oovered ourselves on the last step of the four-year stair- way. High and mighty we were, ready, willing, and able to display our superior ability. Also possessing a r a r n sense or humor, the forty-oners presented the three a o t oomedy, 'The Nutt Family' with much success. Truman A tk- inson, Henry Sohoenherr, Alton Haner, and Wallace W r e ge were the executive body. And so we march on! Knowing that without the helping hand of the class advisors and the remaining faoulty, w e could never have achieved our destination, we pay p a y our homage to them and offer our sincerest thanks f or their aid on the path when both smooth and rocky. 4
