They placed first in the Sec- tional Tournament here at Luck and Harv, having the lowest score of all the golfers participating, was medalist. On June 1st the team with their coach, Roger Steen, left for Green Lake where they entered the Stated Golf Tournament. Al- though they enjoyed themselves playing on the large and beautiful golf course there, they returned home June 3rd without a trophy. Qchool Lifjb Yak . . . Yak . . . Yak . . . It consisted of the traditional parade, bonfire, game, and dance. We won the game with Frederic by a score of 26-7. The victory dance was held in the gym which was decorated to the theme of Gridiron Romance. The candi- dates were Barb Rasmussen, Mary Martin, Mary Nelligan, Sue Fred- ricksen, LaVonne Hansen, Charlene Anderson, and Laurie Morgan. The people of the area chose as their queen LaVonne Hansen, and Barbara Rasmus- sen and Mary Ann Martin as runners-up. We congratulate all of these girls. Harv- ey Dueholm was the main speaker and he was supported by Bruce Plomski who read the class will, Jan Shamblee who read the proph- ecy, Jerry Curnow who gave the farewell address, and Dean Mattson who served as Master of Ceremo- nies. Special music was provided by the Girls' Quartet consisting of Sheila and Charlene Anderson and Joanne and Lois Jackson and the Girls’ Triple Trio. Mr. Dueholm delivered an inspiring message on responsibility in government affairs. 47 Toni Erickson F.H.A. STYLE SHOW The Future Homemakers of America sponsored the annual Style Show. The theme this year car- ried us on a seasonal jaunt through a Rainbow of Fashions. The girls modeled clothing they had made as Home Economics students or as homemaking experiences. Mothers of the members attended the show and were served lunch. New offi- cers were installed and awards were presented. Wilma Anderson re- ceived the Crisco Award and Bar- bara Rasmussen accepted the Betty Crocker 'Homemaker of Tomorrow’ Wilma and Barb Award. Antoinette Erickon, Phyl- lis Mosay, Muriel Askov, Bonnie Curnow, Linda Hedlund, Midge Diede, and Charlene and Sheila Anderson here model their crea- tions as representative of the fine work accomplished by the Future Homemakers of America. Pastor Shields of McKinley was the main speaker and special music was furnished by the Sophomore Quartet. The Luck High School Commencement Exercises were held May 19, 1961. Miss Janet Soule played the Pro- cessional. The Salutatory Address was given by Mr. Merle Pautsch. Two numbers were sung by the High School Choir and Mrs. Loueen Wikstrom sang You’ll Never Walk Alone. Miss Sue Fredrickson delivered the Valedictory Address. Mr. George Grim as speaker of the evening warned his audience against becoming too completely adjusted to their environment and thus losing their freedom. Following the presenta- tion of the Class of 1961 by Mr. Rowe. Mr. Alvin Paulsen presented to the class their diplomas. Miss Soule played the Recessional.
