Uhe I 957 Lucedalian Presented By THE ANNUAL STAFF .A' LUCEDALE HIGH SCHOOL Lucedale, Mississippi $235.3 ?onewond Memories of Lucedale High School linger long in the minds of all who have been students there. We hope this yearbook will make the reflection's of its present students clear and vivid, and in the years to come will help them to remember clearly these high school days as some of the happiest of their lives. 2 x l : . l f 4.....4 'o t I .. 1A. : rt -?. Mewinxuua-vmx! S ? JWYLeFliL-SXW 'J; , firm WK: Dedication Her poise and gracious manner, her tireless efforts, and her efficiency have won for her the love and respect of all who know her. She helps us solve our numerous problems, praises our efforts when we succeed and gently but firmly prods us on when we fail . For her loyalty and devotion, not only to the school, but to each individual student, for her Sympathetic understanding, and for her years of faithful service, we are very grateful . It is with pride and affection that we dedi- cate the 1957 Lucedolian to Mrs. R.W. Barnard. 'Jnibute Sonny Manon Our hearts are stirred with a mixed emotion as we think of Sonny . We are sad that he has not been able to take his place along with us at school. And yet, his wit and sunny disposition fill our hearts with mirth. We are glad to pay tribute to a classmate who has never known a care so great as to cause him to lose his sense of humor. We are happy that Sonny has practically recovered from his auto- mobile accident and is attending school in Mobile. Knowing him has helped to give each of us this philosophy of life: For yesterday is but a Dream, And tomorrow is only a Vision; But today well lived makes every yesterday a Dream of Happiness, And every tomorrow 0 Vision of Hope. f Lucedalian f K gable ob Contenta ?acultq Activitiea Claaaea Gnadea ?eatunea Aduentiainq XE V A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT TO THE ANNUAL STAFF Ideals, the syStem of values by which men live, are of supreme importance in the life of the individual and the life of the notion. Ideals are practical . Woven into the personality structure of the individual citizen, they give him a map of life, a sense of direction, a standard by which he may iudge his inner impulses and his overt behavior. The terms of human association, the worth and dignity and respect men accord one another, the sense of iustice they entertain, their will- ingness to cooperate and sacrifice for the common goort--ail these are rooted in and grow out of ideals that lie at the base of a particular way of life. For the individual, it is his system of values that gives life meaning, that equips him for effective and fruitful living in the home and commun- ity, that makes it possible for him to share in the work of improving the conditions under which men live in his own society. May your ideals be high and you a useful citizen. Mfw M .A . Snowden Superintendent l: rlxm .'-.'. h O 0. Ice Sta LEFT TO RIGHT: Mr. L.c.
