»Aerial view of the downtown area Jacksonville, the largest city in the United States, is also where Mayport Naval Station is located. Jacksonville started out as a French colony on the St. Johns river. The city soon grew in size and importance as an Atlantic sea- port, not slowing down until the great depression. Today, still growing and in the middle of the so called billion dol- lar decade, Jacksonville has a wide variety of leisure ac- tivities to offer, including water sports, concerts, sight seeing, and of course, a good selection of shopping malls.
