All-Westerner . . . Each year the faculty names two seniors as All- Westerner Boy and Girl on the basis of their citizen- ship, scholarship, leadership, and service. Upon the basis of nominations submitted by each teacher, Kaye Edwards, Carolyn Zachary, Jerry Parsons, and Neal Parker were selected finalists for the 1958-59 honor. The identities of winners remained secret until dis- tribution of the yearbook. Black and Gold . . . Black and Gold Day was climaxed by the announcement of the name of the fourth annual Black and Gold Queen which was made during the half-time of the traditional Lubbock-Amarillo football game. Candidates are Pat Tucker, Caro- lyn Zachary, and Kaye Edwards. The Queen was selected by popular vote of the LHS student body. Round-Up . . . As the seventh day of March was drawing nigh, Westerners were making plans for Round- Up Day at Lubbock High. At 5:30 came a big feast of barbecue, and then homeroom Wranglers came out two by two. Round-Up favorites were revealed after the wrangler parade. Finalists were Joe Cobb, Jerry Parsons, Gary Milburn, Kaye Edwards, Carolyn Zachary, and Pat Tucker.
