L. 1,35 Ml is JOY HEROD, JIMMY MCLAUGH- LIN, AND PAT RAINER-As three student body leaders, Joy, Senior Class secretary, along with Jimmy, Senior president, have led the class of 1955 through a successful year. Aside from secretarial duties, Joy served as Y- Teen treasurer and social chairman Senior Class CAROLYN TAPP-Being president of FHA, lay-out editor of the WEST- ERNER, and senior vice-president make Carolyn one of the busiest girls in school, but not too busy to Hnd time to sell almost S300 worth of ad- vertising for the 1954-55 yearbook. She is in NHS, Quill and Scroll, and Y-Teens. She was chosen November Girl of the Month because of her friendly attitude, willingness to work, and dependability. of National Honor Society. Jimmy played Westerner football. Pat, stu- dent body secretary, served as chair- man of the school assemblies through- out the year. She was secretary -of her junior class, and was a Y-Teen oilicer this year. Pat was selected September Girl of the Month. Places 11 Girls RICHARD ESTES-Serving as presi- dent of NHS and as vice-president of Hi-Y first semester made Richard's schedule pretty well filled. Because of his willingness to get along with people and desire to work, he was manager of the Westemer Basketball team. Richard is generous with his musical talents as he is with anything he has. Classmates and students alike admire Richard because of his jocular nature and pleasing personality. LIZ CRESON-Besides serving as secretary of Y-Teen and chairman of the recreation committee of the Stu- dent Council, Liz is a member of NHS, National Thespians, and was in the senior play. Her main interests lie in the field of dramatics. February Girl of the Month was awarded to Liz because of her drive and deterrnina- tion. The LHS Student Council has been a much better organization due to the hard work that Liz contributed. SAM VAUGHTER-A bubbling smile and a contagious laugh reflect Sam's disposition. His glowing, but sincere, Eersonali? has won for him the con- dence o his classmates. A member of the band for three years, Sam acted as drum major during his senior year. In addition to these activities, he was a member of WBBC, home- room president and Junior Rotarian of the Month of January. Sam has fine leadership ability and is a willing worker.
