CADUQFUIUJZQQQ Mrs. Lewis Terrell, dean of girls and a sponsor of the Student Council and Y-Teens, helps to solve many problems for Lub- bock High School students. Because of her patience and wil- lingness to help, she is admired and respected by all who know her. The dean of boys, with a friendly hi for every student, is Mr. H. J. McCabe, who is also a sponsor of the Hi-Y and Student council. His faithful participation in all school affairs reflects his genuine interest in high school boys and girls. A small energetic woman, who is one of the first persons a sopho- more meets in L.H.S., is Miss Grace Padley, guidance director. She is well-known to all students through the aptitude and voca- tional interests tests which she gives. The selling of tags before each football game has become a tradition for the Sturlent Council, Band, and Westerners Mothers' Club. Hoicecer, before the tags are sold they must haue strings attaclzerl. This is a typical picture in Mr. Mcflabeis office with johnny Tatum and Mr. H. I. McCabe supercising as JoAnn XVitt, Gene Galloway, La Faun Ezllcarrls, Patsy McCaslancl, Bobbie Hampton, Naomi Hardin, and Diana Becker string tags for the YVichita Falls senzi-final grid clash. Uflorlfing on the zlecorations for the faculty Christ- mas tea, zclzieh was given December 19, are Dorothy Clenlents, Iuenetta Henderson, Elfriefla Hill, Faustina Haynes, and Gwendolyn Gowens. During his seven years as princi- al, eight new courses have been added nd much has been done in the advance- ent of lnterscholastic League activities. X lf Miss Dorothy Lomax has pioneered in the fields of publications and of secondary curriculum since her arrival in the Lubbock Public School system in l925. Sponsor of the first Lubbock Senior High School paper, called the Hub Hi-Lights, pioneer sponsor of the annual, Miss Lomax now is the first director of secondary cur- riculum, and numbers among her greatest accomplishments the introduction of defi- nite written courses of study.
