X E Q by X w ' -N . - ,f I Sportsmanship, Then Victory Symbolic of VVesterner ideals and traditions, the VVesterner emblem remains in the main entrance to remind students each day of the responsibility which they have in upholding the high standards which have been set. Two oil paintings, one a picture of the typical YVesterner and the other a picture of the typical Westerncttcf, hang in the main hall on the first floor. These pictures were painted by Mrs. Robert Vail, the former Claudyne Cook, for the classes of 1936 and 1937, respectively, to be presented as Senior gifts. Frank Ramsey and Betty Lindsey posed, but the artist made the pictures typical rather than like the models in every detail.
