Foreword Throughout the year as we, the members of the staff of the 1951 Ulesterner, have compiled this book, our aim has been to capture the highlights of the year and to record them in a hook which will recall pleasant memories for a long time to come. The threat of a third YVorld XVar, the horror of the conflict in Korea, the talk of the atom. bomb, the hydrogen bomb, bacteria warfareeall these strike us, the Youth of the XVorld, urith a deadly, paralyzing, almost overwhelming, impact. However, we hope that through our light, almost humorous, approach to the next fifty years, we may reflect the vision, the faith, the courageous dreams of the American XVay of Life. 21 Among the many establishments and persons who haue made possible this yearbook are the Aoalanche-journal Publishing Company, Arteraft Engraving Company, Reeves Photography, and The Steck Company. To each of them we are sincerely grateful. And especially do we want to express our admiration for and our gratitude to our adviser, Mrs. Dick Cozby. Staff members on the 1951 Westerner are, from left to right: Quatha Power, Advertising Copy Editor, Faye Pruitt, Advertising Manager, Louise Davis, Editor, Norma Smith, Copywriter, and Mrs. Dick Cozby, Advisor
