Matthews No one person has played a greater role in making Lubbock High School what it is today than has Mr. Matthews, who served 'as principal of L.H.S. for sixteen years and now is serving his fifth year as superintendent. He believes in progressive educa- tion but never loses sight of the good in the older methods. His most recent forward step is the introduction of a regular twelve years' summer school program for the entire system.
