IVQVKN V uperintendent A capable person, who has served as president of the Texas State Teachers' Association this year and is among the Leaders of American Education, is Dr. William Buel Irvin, superintendent of Lubbock Public Schools for the past five years. Before coming to Lub- bock, he was superin- tendent of the Pampa Schools and the Perry- ton Schools. He has also taught in four Texas col- leges and universities and at the University of Den- ver in Denver, Colorado during summer vacations Dr. lrvin received his Bachelors degree, and Master's degree from Hardin-Simmons and he holds a Doctor's degree from the University of Texas. R W. MATTMEWS TWIVICIPJ Mr. Raymond W. Matthews has been in the Lubbock School system for nine- teen years and has served as principal of Senior High School since 1926. Before entering the career of a teach- er, he received his Bachelor of Arts de- gree from Southern Methodist Univer- sity, his Master of Arts degree from Texas Technological College, and also attended Texas Christian University.
