Text from Pages 1 - 82 of the 1948 volume:

1948 PUBLISHED BY THE 5TUDENT5 COOPER HIGH SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE A proverb in an old reader I once studied read, Life, to have any meaning, must be dedicated to a great purpose. I like this old addage with all of its implications. Many a student has never gone anywhere because he has never sta- rted anywhere. He is not anchored by an abiding purpose. Lif-e seems never to take any definite form for the shift- less and unconcerned. Do you expect any appreciable amount of success in high school or College? Do you expect any- thing really worth while in life? Successful men and women have always been guided by a purpose which is continually pointing the way to higher ground. Purposefully yours, H. H. Nicholas Mrs. Cleo Peek English Mrs. McWhirter Homemaking Supe r intendent Mr. Baldwin Principal Coach Mr. Winters Commercial Coach Mr. Owens Agriculture Author of our School Song We are proud of Cooper High School, We pay homage to her name, May she always achieve honor, May we add unto her fame. Chorus: We will fight for every victory. Like true sportsmen we will fight, We are proud of Cooper High School, May she ever serve the right. When the Pirates go to battle. We’re behind them strauch and strong, We will cheer for dear old Cooper, We will praise her name in song. Mrs. Cleo Peek Sponsor Louie Flowers Editor Tommie Lemon Marvin Kitten Asst. Ed.
