20 PRESIDENT LEMLEY Dr. Steven Lemley continues to serve LCC with dignified enthusiasm. His plea- sant ways and his wisdom have brought harmony and progress to our college. He and his wife, Emily, are great assets to their own family, to the school, but also to the greater community of Lubbock and to the church at large. Dr. Lemley speaks for civic clubs, arts groups, church lectureships, college lec- tureships, youth organizations, business groups and social clubs. He is always on the go and is always helping. His involve- ment is always positive and necessary. We salute Dr. and Mrs. Lemley for a job well done, and we wish them continued success.

IN MEMORIAM TRACI YOUNG Traci Young was killed in an automobile wreck in Lubbock early in the Fall Semester. She was Presi- dent of LOA social club and a member of the Baseball Belles. We miss her smile and her cheer- ful personality. She has blessed our lives with her energy and spirit. PAUL SHERROD Paul Sherrod died on October 9, 1983. He served as the founding Chairman of the Board of Trustees of LCC and as an Elder for many years at Broadway Church of Christ and at Greenlawn. He was best known for his personal work in saving souls. Durward Henderson died July 26, 1983 as the result of a fall he suf- fered while painting his house. He was a master repairman and plumber at LCC for many years. His smile is missed. He was the most dependable person to help at any time of the day or night with the most unpleasant tasks. He was a great example. 19
