Through his leadership LCC has met the challenges and requirements necessary for senior college status. Included in his duties as Chief Ex- ecutive officer under the Board of Trustees he is charged with putting into effect their policies and regula- tions, he presides over faculty meet- ings and selects a competent and harmonious teaching and adminis- trative staff, and recommends their employment to the Board. He is also responsible for the annual prepara- tion ofthe budget of the college, and X S coordinates and directs the public relations activities of the college. mx!

Norman Keener Dr. Norman Keener, with LCC since 1963, serves as its Vice Presi- dent for Academic Affairs. Dr. Keen- er is responsible for the supervision of teachers, the development of the curriculum, and the admissions, the registrar's, and the recruiting offices. lt is his responsibility to develop the degree plans for the senior college and see that they run smoothly. Dr. Keener has served LCC as a stu- dent counselor, teacher in the field of psychology and sociology, Regis- trar, Acting Dean, and Dean of the College. He received his B.S. and M.A. degrees from Stephen F, Austin State University, and his Ed.D. from Texas Tech University. Dr. Keener is respected among students and facul- ty alike for his devotion and hard work for LCC.
