' »; )(i Loyola University of the South is a tradition that was begun six- ty-nine years ago by a communi- ty of Jesuit priests. Their main interest was in providing a liber- al arts education and in deliver- ing this through a broadening curriculum for undergraduate study. Loyola ' s campus is situated in uptown New Orleans. Its build- ings for administration and classrooms include old wartime barracks and a modern science complex. The Rec Center pro- vides all-purpose courts and equipment for serious exercise or just plain fun. Two dormi- tories house out of town stu- dents, helping them to become acquainted with the school and city. Loyola offers its students a wide choice of programs which aid in their choice of a career, and in persuing that career. Loyola is interested in educating the whole person; body, mind and soul. Enrollment of under five thousand is advantageous in mal ing each student feel an im- portant and intrinsic part of the Loyola community.
