It was a September like any other September only this year we were Seniors. We had changed almost as much as Loyola had since that first day we set foot on Evergreen in the all of 1977, Suddenly it was four years later, Loyola had become our home. Friends, good times had gone into making these years some of the most enjoyable of our lives. Loyola was not the same place we found it nor were we the same people. We had both grown. The Evergreen Campus has undergone major expansion and renovation in the past four years. The small Jesuit College of our day is rapidly taking on a major university look. The new student center gymnasium will make Evergreen almost unrecognizable to the Class of 1981 but it will always be a place to come home to. The Class of 1981 has changed and matured. Who knows if anyone will recognize us in a few years? We are not the same people we were in 1977. The Class ol 1981 became a family somewhere in those four years of tests, papers, deadlines, dates, parties and interviews. Then it was Graduation Day, the moment we had all been waiting for. It came too fast and was over too soon. Our family then struck out in many different directions. This book is intended to be a reminder of those four years. It is a collection of all the best parts of our life at Loyola. Even though time and distance may separate u$ this book will stir memories to bring us all back together again to those carefree days at Loyola in 1981.
