In Appreciation of Fr. Michael A. Lorenzo, S.J. ... He gave the last decade of his priestly life to Loyola, or rather, to the people at Loyola, jesuit priest, biologist, Outstanding Educator of America, Pharmacist ' s Mate - Fr. Michael A. Lorenzo, S.J. was many things to many people. We remember him — short and restless, like Zacchaeus or Ignatius — counseling, teaching, plucking the bass fiddle with Group”, putting the last loving touches on the renovated biology labs — at works of sweat and frustration and love. Fr. Mike died as he lived: intensely. He suffered for being too involved with people, and for being ahead of his times. He w orried and worked and laughed among us as a man on a mission. He tinkered, smoked like a chimney, spoke out, broke the bread of celebration for us and with us. He reminded us we were priestly; he loved ordinary folks like you and me. And so it ' s to him that we dedicate this yearbook with deep affection. — the Class of 76 5
