Senior Sodalit The core of Loyola's spiritual activity is Our Lady's Sodality. its chief objective is to unite each student more closely to God Through love for the Mother ot God- Ad Jesum per Mariam. This is achieved by frequent attendance at Mass and reception of the sacraments, periods of retreat and recollection, and ti- nally mental prayer. The Sodalist is also pledged to the spiritual and material loenetit ot others, consequently, he helps hospital patients to attend Mass, teaches the cate- chism to children, and col.ects food for Christ's poor. This is voluntary self-sacrifice. The Sodality is the spark plug tor Catholic Action, tor it trains leaders who will influence the world about them, a world much in need ot sound guidance.
