RELIGION Without religion there can be no education in the true sense of the word, that is, no complete and harmonious development of the whole man. Religion, furthermore, being definite and certain like any other truth, can be taught. Hence it is an integral part of the curriculum. Students are required to comply with their religious obligations regularly, and to make annually a spiritual re- treat of three days. Societies and other organizations are established for the fostering of piety. PHILOSOPHY Without sound philosophy there is neither intellectual maturity nor security. Scholastic philosophy, the wisdom of the ages, is sound, mature and intelligible. It alone does no violence to Faith, to Science or to Common Sense. Every candidate for any degree at Loyola must complete a series of courses in Scholastic Philosophy. CANADIAN OFFICERS’ TRAINING CORPS The Loyola College Contingent C.O.T.C. is organized under the author- ity of Army Headquarters, Ottawa.
