Wy' ff..- Classic subiects still hold attention ot students While science has been progressing with leaps and bounds, the CLASSICS have shown little visible advance. They have, however, crept ahead in two distinct ways - the first being the advance from age to age with each period adding a new writer, poet, or philosopher, the second is in the student's own mind. Each pupil must discover for himself the delighttulness ot Homer, the subtleties ot Chaucer, the richness of Shake- speare. For fifty years the ultimate of Jesuit education has been embodied in the Honors Course, which strives for the cultured, in- tellectual man. KNUCKLEHEADSH Latin comes tough, but so does MR. Science curriculum increases facilities The theme of this book is the seniors of the class ol 1960 as opposed to the seniors of 1911. During these past titty years, great advances have been made in many fields, especially science - atom and hydrogen bombs, atomic submarines, rocketships, and nuclear power plants. What will happen in the next fifty years will be up to the scientific majors of today. Perhaps the next turn of the key of knowledge or another tedious experiment will unlock for these young men still greater secrets of our vast universe.
