A Wllltll HEFUHE WE BEGIN As we, the graduates of 1941, prepare to meet the modern world, a world fraught with doubt, falsehood, and death for body and spirit, we wish to leave in this book a record of our efforts and accomplishments while we were preparing at Loyola for the struggle of life to follow. We do feel that we are prepared to meet the chal- lenge which the future throws down to us: we know that our training under the accumulated wisdom of four hundred years of Jesuit teach- ing has shown us the true way to courage and real happiness. That teaching has shown us how to follow Christ through life and to life. lesus Christ is not merely a Sunday friend to the students of Loyola. For four years He has drawn closer and closer to us. He is very close to us now as we leave Loyola, He will stay our closest friend in the future. This is what our school has done for us: it has strengthened our friendship with our Leader. This is what Christ will do for us: He will be with us when we step into an uncertain world so that with Him and through Him we. with other Catholic youths, may lead men aright.
