Class This is a true account of the adventures of our class during our six years at Loyalsock. ln the fall of 1954, 35 bewildered faces appeared at Loyalsock. These faces belonged to the new seventh grade, the Class of 6O . During our first year we had Mr. Sherba as our homeroom teacher in room nine. As we became more accustomed to our new life at Loyalsock, we held our first class meeting and elected class officers. The following were elected: President, James Weightmang Vice-President, Linda Nortong Secretary, Joan Bennettg Treasurer, Betty Heessg Reporter,Darla Morgang Historian, Joy Hayesg Auditors, Connie Shaffer, Sandra Higley. Later in the year Leonard J arrell came to make our class meet the 36 mark. When we returned to school in the fall of 1955, we found that we had lost three members, having only 33 to start the year. Darrell Higley, Edna Heinze, and James Kieffer had all moved during the stunmer. Shortly after school started William Henneberry moved to California, but rejoined us later in the year. In the middle of the year we were joined by Eugene Dieffenbach and ended the year with 35 members. We had room eight as our homeroom with Mr. Chubbuck as our homeroom teacher. We raised our class dues from 5472 to 25:2 that year. We lost the Magazine Sales Campaign to the seventh grade by only a few dollars. Our leaders for this year were: President, Duane Reibsong Vice-President, Keith Snyderg Secretary, Joan Bennettg Treasurer, Betty Heessg Reporter, Carrie CampbellgHistorian, Gary Nortong Auditors, Charles Baumunk, Herbert Norton, At the beginning of ninth grade the Class of 1960 had a total of 33 members. Throughout the year we saw various members of our class coming and leaving. As new members we had Glenn Brown, Ronald Frey, and Burr Snell to start the year. As the year progressed we found we had lost Burr Snell, Ronald Frey, Lloyd Shaffer, and Carrie Campbell. In J anuary,J ames Kieffer came, and left in the spring along with William Henneberry. Class officers were as follows: President, Linda Nortong Vice-President, James Pardoeg Secretary, Charlotte Whiteleyg Treasurer, Keith Snyderg Reporter, Joy Hayes: Historian, Wayne Nortong Auditors,Charles Baumunk, Duane Reibson. In the fall of 1957, we began the second half of our journey through high school. Our home- room was room eight with Mr. Rompalo as our homeroom teacher. Upon returning to school we found that John Speaker had left us and Dorothy Burmeister had joined us, so we started the year 31 strong. Through the course of the year the 31 dwindled to 28. J ames Kieffer, Jacob Laugenslager, and June Yanney had all left us during the year. Our class proved to be an ambitious one with members taking part in all the various school activities. The leaders of our mob were: President,James Pardoeg Vice-President, Lowell Goshowg Secretary, Charlotte Whiteleyg Treasurer, Betty Heess, Reporter, Joy Hayesg Historian, Gary Nortong Auditors, Sandra Higley, Connie Shaffer. ln the fall of '58, the Class of 1960 once again journeyed to Loyalsock to embark upon a very successful Junior year.

Her ability to get ready for school in five minutes to Virginia Baumunk. Her naturally curly hair to Ina Frey. His luck for finding money and for getting out of wrecks to anyone who needs it His curly black hair to Earl Chase. Her singing ability to Betsy Fiester. His scholastic ability to his brother Dennis. His ability to get along with the teachers to Duane Snell. Her nickname horse to anyone who can fit it better. His ability to play the trumpet to Larry Frey, His ability to tell jokes to anybody who can tell them better. His ability to chase cows to Mr. Chubbuck, Her slim figure to Beverly Smith, His concentration power to Gary Rouse. That Dodge to anyone who can drive it faster than he can. History As we surveyed our class, we found that John Speaker was once again with us, to make our class number 28. Before the end of the year, however,John left school, leaving us once again with a total of 27. During the course of the year we had two activities. We had a very successful Valentine Party. On May 8, we held our Junior Prom, Twilight in the Garden , for which we decorated with our class colors, turquoise and white. Many people said this was the best prom ever held at Loyalsock. Our class officers were as follows: President,Betty Heessg Vice-President, Gary Nortong Secretary, Ruth Boylesg Treasurer, Dorothy Burmeisterg Reporter, Darla Morgan, Historian, Leonard J arrellg Auditors, James Pardoe, Duane Reibson. In September of 1959, we returned once again to Loyalsock to begin our last year in high school. We found that Catherine Shrimp and Iva Norton were not with us, so we began our last year with only 25 members. We had Mr. Rompalo as our class advisor and room eight for our homeroom. Mr. Pepper- man became our advisor later during the term. As the year got into full swing, we soon discovered it was to be our busiest year, with our class members leading all the school activities: as well as our class having many projects. We had a Halloween Party, class play entitled Pick a Dilly' , sock hop, and a bake sale. The bluebloods for this term were: fig President, Wayne Norton I 9. . . , 1 Vice-President, Keith Snyder X ev? As the glorious moment of graduation arrives and we march forward to receive our diplomas, we will all look back at our years at Loyalsock and remember them as being among the best years of our lives. As we go out into the world, we should remember our class motto, Life is What You Make lt.'
