Senior Class History We began our high school career on a warm sunny day in the fall of '45. Twenty-two students, some happy, some sad, filled the classroom. Later, in the spring of the year, Pete Renninger from South Williamsport joined us. Our teachers who succeeded in teaching us a few manners and some knowledge were: Mr. Mullen, who taught mathematics, English and history: Mr. Saphore, who was school principal and agriculture teacher: Miss Wise, who taught home economics: Mr. Aucker, who taught history and scienceg Mrs. Aucker, who taught music, English, and mathematics. Returning to school as sophomores we felt a little bigger be- cause we could look down at a class behind us. Filling the class- room were twenty-two familiar faces and four new ones--Margaret Lewis from Montoursville, Robert Woodley from Muncy, Delbert Kobbe from Williamsport and Niel Huffsmith from Buffalo, New York. Later in the year Delbert returned to Williamsport and Donna Rouse transferred to St. Basils at Dushore. Our teachers who taught us a few more manners and some knowledge were: Mr. Booth, who was principal and taught mathematics, geography and science: Mr. Mul- len, who taught history: Mr. Saphore, who taught chemistry and agriculture: Miss Ide, home economics teacherg and Miss Adamchek, music and English. Miss Adamchek was replaced at mid-term by Mr. Vershinski. At the beginning of the junior year, Delbert Kbbbe had returned and Mary Lou Willouer came from Morrestown, New Jersey James Hartford and Elwood Morgan had left class and are now with the Armed Forces Neil Huffsmith transferred to Texas to finish school At the end of the first six weeks Carol Little left us to go to school at Benton Our teachers that year were Mr Driscoll, school principal and English teacher, Mr Mullen, teach ing algebra and bookkeeping, Mr Barrow, teacher of history and physical education, Misa Ide, home economics instructor, and Mr Saphore, agriculture advisor Seniorsl we'd made it at last At the first of the year there were twenty one students in our class room seats This year there has been a change in the school s stem The seventh and eighth grades have Joined us, enabling the school board to employ more teachers This also gave the students a wider choice of subjects than was possible in former years Our teachers this year are Mr Driscoll, principal, Mr Masteller, English, Mr Markiewicz, science, Miss Laverty, music, Miss Ide, home economics, Mr Bar row, history, Mr Mullen, mathematics, and Mr Saphore, agricul tLLI'6 e Looking back over our school years we now recall many happy times At parties, basketball games, and even during school hours much fun was enjoyed by all.
