Mecklenburg Grade School H Lghlrghts thrilling experience for us all Second Grade The second grade room made large murals of farm activities and colorful booklets during their study of the farm Third and Fourth Grades The event this year of most interst to us proved to be our Valentine party It was indeed enjoyed by all of us Fifth and Sixth Grades This has been a year for boys in grades fwe and six They out numbered the girls more than two to one Much pleasure and enthusiasm resulted from constructing a model medieval castle Then a sandbox was added to Room five and six Seventh and Eighth Grades The event that high llghted our year was going down to the Grambsch Candy Kitchen to see the process of making Christmas candy We also enyoy ed makmg stuffed toys for the children at Chippewa at Christmas time Decorating our bulletin board wtth life size pictures has been fun too The chalk drawing of Ichabod Crane and The Headless Horseman was especlally interesting 9 fi I a i K , 4 First Grade: This being our first year in school, receiving our first report card was a S s, it 4 ' -L 2?
