l 5 Retiring t With the passing of 1967-68 school lyear, we regret- fully acknowledge the passing of anot er fine teacher from the halls of Lowville Academy: Miss Dorothy Walter is retiriiig. Miss Walter graduated from euka College and re- ceived her Masters Degree from St. Lawrence Univer- sity. She came to us in the September of 1946 and since then has taken an active part in the growing achievement of our school. She has been primarily concerned with the Language Department, first teaching English, and then Latin through which most of us are familiar with her. Even if some did not have her directly as a teacher, we all learned from her. She has incessantly devoted her time to the betterment of our school. She acted as a class advisor and co-advisor of our yearbook for a great many years. More recently, she has been chief advisor to the treasurers of all extracurricular activi- ties in school. She loves golf and traveling, and we understand she will be engag- iniln both after retirement. iss Walter, with her quiet but devoted nature, has been an ins iration to all at Lowville Academyg facult and students alike. How do we thang this teacher who has devoted so much ofy her life and enthusiasm to us? It is hard to do. The best way is to live better lives, benefiting from her guidance and inspiration and wish her Good Luck with her future p ans, wherever they may take her.
