CUM Lowacaahdn fiafj' William O'Brien Editor-in-chief John Steinbrenner Business Manager James Burr Sales Manager Charles Pedersen Advertising Manager The yearbook of L.A.C.S. lives on from year to year. The members of each yearis staff may rue the day they chose to accept the responsibility of a publication of such importance but in spite of being buried neck-deep in copy, proofs, layouts and complaints, we have suffered cheerfully. We soon forgot lost copy, pictures pasted on dummy sheets rather than on build-up sheets and senior pictures not returned. In the words of Shakespeare -A ll's Well That Ends Well. Membership is open to all seniors and a few juniors who obtain the required number of ads and sales. Our advertisers make it possible for you to have a year book at such a reasonable price. The actual work of preparing the book is done by staff members who volunteer to put in long hours and hard work. We have tried in spite of many trials to give you an honest squint into the school we know best-Lowville Academy and Central School. Judy Garnham holds the position of treasurer in the District Council. Our Council is also a member of the New York State Student Council Association. This has been our first year of working with our new constitution. We held bi-weekly meetings, supervised assemblies, had charge of field day and student teacher day, and served as guides at the annual Parents' night. The Student Council had charge of the student activities calendar and started a lost and found department. Each home room is represented by one regular mem- ber and one alternate who keep all the students informed about activities of the Student Council. In addition, some of these representatives lead the flag salute each moming in the homerooms, take their fellow students to assem- blies and collect tickets from students attending the dress rehearsals of plays.
